The Record Journal Live is proud to present an evening with Cara Dillon. Cara is one of the biggest names in folk music and we are thrilled that she will be performing in Trelawnyd.
Born in 1975, from Co. Derry, Ireland, Cara Dillon has been singing since the age of 14, and over the years has won numerous accolades and national folk awards. After performing in a number of bands, including the folk supergroup ‘Equation’ she has since become a star in her own right. She has worked with several musicians ranging from Phil Coulter to Mike Oldfield. Over the past few years Cara's musical partnership with Sam Lakeman has matured to an exceptional quality. Expect a blend of traditional and contemporary influences, but very little can prepare you for Cara’s mesmerizing and beautiful vocals, and a quite stunning musical experience.
She will performing as a duo with her husband Sam Lakeman. It's definitely not an evening to miss.
"Cara Dillon is one of Ireland's great singers" The Guardian
"All the usual comparison between her voice and pure mountain streams seem not so daft after all" Q Magazine
"Cara's sweet and heavenly voice a joy to listen to..." Maverick Magazine
All our events are locally organised and we promise a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with a bar, fundraising raffle and craft stall. It is a non-reserved seating event so it is advisable to arrive promptly to choose your seats.
